The top picture is of the cage as it was mocked up in the car. No holes have been drilled at this point. The plastic was left on to keep the paint from being scratched from the installation.

View looking in from the driver's (left image) and passanger's side door ( right image). Here you can see how the cage was moved as far forward as possible. The main hoop was positioned first then the forward down tubes. Then the bars connecting the main hoop to the down tubes.
Finally the bar that goes across the top of the windshield was installed. After everying what mocked up the bars were marked with white paint marker (the cage is painted black) to show where the edges of the collars should go. Also the collars themselves were marked to make sure proper edge distances were kept on both the collar and the bar. A typical rule of thumb is to keep the edge spacing greater than two bolt diameters.

As the holes were drilled the bolts were inserted but not tightened down. Once all the holes were drilled and filled with bolts the six backing plates were installed at the six main mounting location. At this point all the bolts are now in place and will be torqued down using jam nuts. All the hardware was included in the kit.
